On Thursday evening, Terry visited the new Thorold Opera House. Below are a few lines he jotted down for his students.
On the board, he wrote the following list for his students.
Opera in Thorold (a small town in Canada)
- Champagne and fish eggs in a can are the first requirements for opera.
- The name of the opera is difficult to pronounce and you can't spell easily, either.
- The singer knows what she can do and what she can't do.
- Slowly, haltingly, and with tears pouring down her face, she sang the first song.
- Next summer I intend to go to the Montreal Opera Festival, the Buffalo Festival, and I plan to attend the Moncton Opera Festival also.
- Make sure that the people you take are smart, nice, and that they will dress well.
- My friends told me to stay home and that I should watch the television.
- I had a hard time deciding whether to attend the opera in a tuxedo or jeans, or attending with my school uniform.
