Travel (Outside of Canada)

traditional fisherman houses rorbu and boats at Haholmen island, Norway

I had 11 days of vacation days, so I decided to visit not only Turkey again, but also more countries. Also, when you have more stopovers on your flight, you spend less money. I found the cheapest route - Canada – Reykjavik (Iceland) – Oslo (Norway) - Turkey. On the way back it was Turkey – Budapest (Hungary) - Reykjavik- Canada. I decided to pick this route. But there was one huge disadvantage because some layovers on the way back were long. I was okay with that because I was saving money.

When I thought I arrived in Reykjavik, I was very surprised because actually, it was Keflavik. I do not know why they wrote Reykjavik airport on the tickets. So, I decided to take a bus and after 2 hours I was in downtown Reykjavik. I spent a lot of time to explore the landmarks in the capital of Iceland. Prices were very high for me but the nature and buildings were impressive.

Then I had a flight to Oslo, Norway. The layover was 10 hours and it was night time. I had booked a hotel room before, so when I reached there, I had a place to sleep. But after the plane landed, the buses there were not working and I had to walk for 1.5 hours. I finally reached the hotel room which was not new and fancy but very comfortable. I slept like a child. After a perfect breakfast, I went to the airport, and finally, I was in Istanbul.

The airport of Istanbul is the biggest in Europe. I had a great hotel with a balcony and spa. Turkey is a cheaper country for travel. I spent 7 nights there. It was great. I ate local food, visited Kings Island, did some shopping, and walked around downtown. Istanbul has a large population of more than 15 million people. I met with a local family. They invited me for a cup of tea. It was so kind.

On my way back I visited Budapest. It is the capital city of Hungary and the cultural heart of Europe. There are many old and beautiful buildings and has the best cuisine you can get. The food was excellent and cheap. Of all the countries I visited, I liked Budapest the best. I spent 7 hours there. The city had very good services at very good prices. I recommend everyone to visit this city.

I had a lot of fun on this trip and collected a bunch of great impressions. In short, it was a great trip and I am glad I decided to plan my trip in this way.
