smiling woman with curly hair in plaid shirt bakes cookies at bright kitchen at home

Every day I get up at 6 am. I have breakfast with my husband, then I prepare my family lunch bags. Today, for example, we had chicken salad wrap and a mix of fruits, with green and red grapes, blackberries and raspberries. In addition, Matheus, my son had yogurt and to drink - a Mate, a Brazilian tea.

When I finish preparing the lunch bags, it is already around 7:10, when my husband leaves. After he leaves, I turn on the radio to listen to the news while I prepare my son’s breakfast. When it is ready, around 7:45, I wake him up. As it is really tough to wake him up, I usually spend 5 to 10 minutes in his bedroom. To speed up the process, I help him change clothes and we go to the kitchen.

While my son is having breakfast, I organize the kitchen and then take a shower. After that, I brush my teeth and when I am ready to leave, I call my son to brush his teeth. At 8:45 we leave home. I drive my son to school. The bell rings at 9:10. Usually, I wait for it to make sure it is all good, while I take the opportunity to engage with other parents.

After that, I drive to work and around 9:40 I get there. I have 30 min break around noon and at 5pm I leave to pick up my son at school. His school ends at 3:40 pm, but he does the after-school program until 5:40 pm.

After picking him up, we go home, and I prepare dinner. After dinner, my son does his homework and organizes his backpack. If he has enough time, he plays a video game or watches television while I organize the kitchen or do another chore. At 9:30 pm Matheus takes a shower, brushes his teeth and usually around 10 pm he goes to bed. I prepare the clothes for the following day and go to bed as well.
