Settlement

Since I arrived in Canada two years and nine months ago, my life has completely changed. In my country, Peru, I worked for many years as a stylist. I had my beauty salon.

I currently live on the Sunshine Coast. Although it's a beautiful and quiet place to live, in this community, people live more peacefully, taking care of their gardens, and pets, or maybe drawing or developing their talents and helping each other. Life here is not as stressful as in the city. I'm learning to develop new talents like crocheting, baking, and cake decorating. I'm also learning gardening. I'm very happy to learn new things and to be able to share with my new family, and new friends, and also in the community church.

I have prepared beautiful cakes expressing celebration with favorite flavors, hobbies, or work, which they requested. I also crochet beautiful dolls using the amigurumi technique and give them to my in-laws for Christmas.

I'm very grateful to this beautiful country that allows me to live safely and calmly and continue learning new talents.
