Immigrating to Canada is a dream for many citizens around the world. It has, particularly, been my dream since 2017. Considering it a life-time challenging, some people thought I was crazy to leave everything behind, while others encouraged me to pursue this dream. In the next paragraphs I`ll expound more about some of the challenges faced by me.
This chapter started in my life with one month exchange with no expectation that it would end in an immigration process. It took me years of financial, emotional and psychological preparation before being approved to immigrate. I left my job, my family, my dogs, my culture, my future in my own country to pursue a dream.
Nevertheless, I was certain that this moving to Canada was a good plan. Although I have been here for less than one year, I can see my dream going from abstract to concrete as I experience the Canadian life-style and learn new things daily. It is not an easy journey as we can face situations we have never been exposed to, but we must be open to new perspectives. New rules, new cultures, new workplace, and sometimes you still wonder if you did the right thing or how your life would be if I had stayed in my country. However, we need to keep it going in order to experience new challenges as we dreamed so much to be here.
