Travel (Outside of Canada)

Daigoji Temple, Kyoto Japan

We spent 14 days in three cities, Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto. It was a fantastic. My husband and I took a trip to Japan in 2016, and it was our first time being in this country. trip. We loved everything about Japan: the nature, the people, and the food.

Tokyo is the capital and a major cultural center of Japan. Although, it's a heavily populated city, where people are always busy, but still, it is neat and clean. Besides, it’s a very safe place. We went to museums, visited some temples and the palace. The Japanese maintained these historical places very well. They are still in great condition. If you visit Japan, you should have a late night out in Roppongi, Shibuya or Shinjuku. They are famous for their liveliest nightlife scenes.

Hakone is a small town but unique. We stayed at a homestay with little rooms like tree houses. It was a small room but very comfy and cozy. Fuji mountain and lake Ashi are the icons of Hakone. They are really iconic. We took a boat tour on lake Ashi, the views were spectacular. The volcano mount Fuji was breathtaking from far.

Kyoto is my favorite city of all. It was once the capital of Japan and a major tourist destination. Kyoto is famous for its temples, imperial palaces, traditional houses, and geisha. Even though everyone knows that Japan is known for Sushi, Sashimi, Soba, Ramen, the BBQ is also quite famous over there and it is delicious. We went to a BBQ restaurant, and it was an unforgettable meal. We stayed in a traditional wooden homestay where the room is decorated in the original way. We were lucky, we saw some geishas on their way to their appointment in the early evening.

Every city in Japan has its own unique beauty. We enjoyed our time in every city and we are looking forward to having more trips to Japan in the future.
