Bagel or Baguette? Cupcakes or macaroons? Paris or New York?
These are perhaps the two most famous cities in the world - two amazing, explosive places that everyone wants to visit.
At first, they seem to have a lot in common, yet they are very different in many aspects: lifestyle, gastronomy and city icons. These cities have an amazing routine and exciting nightlife. Although both have museums to visit, plenty of places to spend unforgettable days, the availability of incredible restaurants, and many cultural activities, their lifestyles are so different.
While Paris is so bohemian and gentle, New York is hectic and urban. In Paris the pace of life is slow, and its culture is deep. In contrast, in New York life is fast and noisy.
There are also many differences between Paris’ and New York’s gastronomy. Paris is
known for its gourmet food as well as its exquisite dishes and desserts, which are prepared with fresh, high quality ingredients. Paris smells of freshly made bread, crepes, and good wine. Conversely, New York is famous for fast food, and it is very normal to see people from all over the world tasting the world famous hot dog on the street.
These cities are famous thanks to their parks, museums, and buildings. Nevertheless, each city has its personal touch and style. New York is known for majestic buildings and architecture that are full of modernity such as the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, or Time Square, whereas Paris is exciting because of its historic and artistic expressions like L’Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, or Notre Dame. New York is Andy Warhol while Paris is Da Vinci.
In the end, no matter if you choose New York or Paris, you can be sure that you will have a magnificent time exploring their unique lifestyles, gastronomies and iconic sites!
