Learning about weather is necessary if people are going to come to Toronto, Canada. You will need to know what is waiting for you outside when you plan your day. Spring and fall seasons are relatively short compared with winter and summer. Spring can start as early as March or as late as May, but it goes by fast. Summer starts in June and goes to September. Fall is only two months long - October and November. Winter is the longest season. It goes from late November to early March or even into April. Therefore, some say “There are only winter and summer seasons in Toronto”.
Toronto winters can be very cold. The temperature can be -6 to -15 and sometimes even colder. There is a lot of snow, so snowsuits, snowshoes, scarves, warm hats and gloves are essential in the winter in Toronto. Because it frequently snows, another important thing is that you have to change your normal tires to snow tires for safety reasons in the winter, but the good news is there is lots of skiing just outside of the city.
Winters are cold, but summers are hot and humid. The highest temperature is about 32 degrees centigrade in the summer. This used to be a rare occurrence, but it is getting more and more common. In general, the summer is a pleasant season in Toronto. People wear T-shirts, dresses and shorts. However, there are also summer storms, with heavy showers and small tornadoes. Ontario weather is almost like living in two completely different countries!
