Environmentalism

Who is responsible for the environment? Everybody knows that humans are responsible for a variety of environmental issues. However, in order to reduce the damage that we are causing to the environment, who will take the action? Government or individuals? In my opinion, both the government and individuals should take action to protect our planet.

Two biggest issues of the environment are air pollution and waste. Gas emissions from factories and exhaust fumes from vehicles are causing global warming. As a result, there will be more disasters in the future. In Addition, the human population is increasing, we are producing more waste every day, which is a big threat to rivers and oceans.

Government could help to reduce air pollution by enacting laws. They could grow more trees and set a serious punishment with deforestation. Besides, they could set laws about limiting gas emission from factories or promote green energy such as solar, wind and water energy. Every action should be with nature in mind. Also, they could charge more for gas or enforce taxes on drivers or airplane companies to make people use public transportation more and take less flights.

Individuals should also take their part of the responsibility to the environment. They can take public transportation instead of driving, choosing products with recycled packaging. Individuals who are taking action to protect the planet should raise the awareness of others. For example, posting information on social media or volunteering to environmental organizations.

In conclusion, both the government and individuals should play their part in looking after the environment.
