Banking System In Canada during Covid

I would like to share my experience of working from home as fraud analyst in Canadian Bank. I have been working from home almost a year now and I still do not want to go back to my previous schedule. First, the job requires me to sit by the computer desk 7 hours a day, so it was not a problem to relocate my workplace from office to domestic environment. Bank even provided large monitor to improve speed and quality of work. My core work is to verify email money transfers (EMT’S) to confirm if they are legitimate or not. Every day I see a lot of fraud and scam and doing my best to prevent it and save funds for client and the bank. My favorite part of working from home is that I can save some time on commute and sleep 30 extra minutes more every day. First few months of working from home were great, but I noticed that I needed more fresh air and exercises to avoid health problems like back pain. I added exercise to my schedule, in addition to extra 15 minutes provided by our manager weekly as a break for employees to take a walk and get some fresh air. We call it healthy walk. Covid-19 is a big challenge for businesses all over the world. My financial institution is doing a great job on maintaining core functions of the bank even during this hard time. We kept all our employees and even hired more for permanent positions. I think that was a good lesson for bank and now some position may be moved to permanent work from home environment. This can save a lot of money on office space in the future.
I hope that after pandemic some employee will be able to continue work from home if they would like to and some will move back to office because work in banking center requires personal attention to every client.
