Before 11 years, in my home country I graduated from college as a software engineer. I was engaged immediately, and after one month of my graduation I got married. After another month I got a job in my uncle’s clinic. Then, I got pregnant.

In my country, almost every day we have a gathering with family or friends. In addition there were house chores that needed to be completed before I went to bed. When I gave birth to my first beautiful baby girl I didn’t give myself any time to rest. After two months I returned to my job but now with extra responsibility.

Four years later, I gave birth to my second sweet daughter. During this time we were forced to leave our country. We left behind everything our family, friends, jobs, all the busy life and we went to Lebanon. I didn’t get any job because I had my older girl who was almost 5 years and the baby girl who was just few months old. At that time I spent a lot of time with my daughters but I realized I didn’t spend enough time with my older daughter. So I began to search on YouTube and read books about how I could connect with her and the younger one, do activities, play together. Of course, sometimes I miss everything that I did in my country but these two years in Lebanon, taught me a lot about how to take care of children and have fun with them too.

When we arrived in Canada, I was confused about which job I have to get and if I could keep a balance between my family and my job. First, I decided to improve my language by joining the LINC Home Study program and I have my very helpful and kind teacher who supports me a lot and besides that from my past experiences, I decided to be a teacher for children. I began with an Early Childhood Education course in September. I’m very excited to learn more about the Montessori way of teaching children.

It hasn’t been very easy, taking care of the house and making sure that the kids don’t feel left out, but with a lot of support from my husband, I am managing and feel excited that I am doing something that I want to, for myself. Now, I understand the education system of Canada and know how to deal with the little issues that my daughters face in school. I feel I’m a winner every day!

Therefore, everyone must take their own decisions, choose a career that will make them happy and help find the right job - that is suitable to their life and ambitions.

They will definitely succeed.
