Hi there! I'm Brave Doan. I come from Vietnam. I've been in Canada for eleven years and five months. I worked for Crossworks Manufacturing for ten years in Sudbury when I came to Canada with my work permit. I was a diamond polishing and cutting worker and an operator of the robots which polished diamonds for ten years in Vietnam. I had the same job for another ten years in Sudbury, Ontario where I was given a chance to learn how to operate the laser which could cut diamonds in halves. I was quite a good worker because I could repair low weight diamonds with many nonglossy cutting diamonds. After five years, I got my PR card (Permanent Residence) in 2014 and I brought my spouse and two kids to Canada from Vietnam in April 2014. The Crossworks Manufacturing closed in Oct 2019 because the mines were empty. I was out of work, so I flew to Vietnam in November 2019 to visit my parents for over two months. They were eighty-seven and seventy-eight years old. They were slowly getting dementia. After I returned to Canada, I went to YMCA office to ask for help to prepare my resume to apply for a job. I couldn't stand staying at home and having nothing to do. It took me six months to get a job, and now I have a job. I've been working for Northern Uniform since the September 2020. I am in the sewing department. I sew reflectors, name crests and hem pants. Life is great in Canada. I love it indeed.
