Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

ancestor
a member of your family who lived a long time ago

bearable
something that is difficult or unpleasant, but you can deal with it

bedding
sheets, covers etc that you put on a bed

boisterous
someone who makes a lot of noise and has a lot of energy

Compulsory
something that must be done because it is the law or because someone in authority orders you to

convey
to communicate or express something, with or without using words

homeland
the country where someone was born

inspirational
providing encouragement or new ideas for what you should do

intertwined
they are closely related to each other

leash
a piece of rope, leather etc fastened to a dog’s collar in order to control it

marinate
to put meat or fish in a marinade

nominal
very small; far below the real value or cost

notable
important, interesting, excellent, or unusual enough to be noticed or mentioned

panorama
an impressive view of a wide area of land

picturesque
place is pretty and interesting in an old-fashioned way

prosperous
rich and successful

queue
a line of people waiting to enter a building, buy something etc, or a line of vehicles waiting to move

recap
to repeat the main points of something that has just been said

roulette
a game in which a small ball is spun around on a moving wheel, and people try to win money by guessing which hole the ball will fall into

sumptuous
very impressive and expensive

unfavorable
conditions, situations etc that are not good

whine
to complain in a sad annoying voice about something

windfall
an amount of money that you get unexpectedly
