Travel (Outside of Canada)

In June last year, my wife and I celebrated our 5-year anniversary. We decided to choose a special place to celebrate, and this place would be outside of Canada. My wife knows the US better than me, therefore, I left the decision to her. She picked Chicago because she loves the scenery in Winnetka (the city in which ‘Home Alone’ took place) and, as I did not know the city, I started my research to find a good restaurant for a special dinner, a place to stay, and a map with places to visit, 2 weeks before our trip.

We started our trip early on Friday, June 7th and spent 8 hours driving to the house we rented. Our sightseeing started the next day. We visited all the ‘Home Alone’ scenery including the house and church, which we took a lot of pictures of. At night, we went to a place called ‘Terrace 16,’ located at Trump Tower in downtown Chicago. It was a wonderful night with a magnificent view of Chicago and fireworks from the pier. It was remarkable. I hope to visit Chicago again; there are a lot of places to visit there and explore further.
