Aerial View of Sao Paulo city, Brazil

The city where I was born was São Paulo, Brazil, the capital. It is considered one of the largest metropolises in the world, with almost 12 million inhabitants. Life there is intense, culturally rich and diverse, because it welcomes people from all regions of Brazil, which is also a country with very distinct cultures in each of its regions. Besides its native population, it received people from different parts of the world during colonization. São Paulo shows these cultural contrasts very clearly. However, most of its natives have some African, Portuguese, and Italian ancestry.

It is a cosmopolitan city and, because of that, a financial and commercial center. This creates a stressful atmosphere due to constant transformation and development. It is also a city marked by a deep gap between social classes. The result is a tension between urban violence and the effort to live a better life. It is, at the very least, interesting.

Known as a city that never stops, it has an endless nightlife, full of bars and restaurants with strong gastronomic expression from all regions of Brazil and also from the world, but it is especially recognized for the strong influence of Italian cuisine. In addition, it has important tourist attractions such as the Ipiranga Museum, the Latin America Memorial, the São Paulo Art Gallery, and Ibirapuera Park. São Paulo is an intense and diverse city that deserves to be visited.
