Brazilian Brigadeiro recipe is famous for being incredibly simple and quick. Brigadeiro is a versatile sweet! Whether you're celebrating a birthday, snuggling on the sofa with a spoon or just in need of comfort food. It’s a favorite for PMS cravings, too!
Whenever I make brigadeiro, it takes me straight back to being a kid licking the spoon, the great chocolate smell everywhere, and my mom telling me to wait for it to cool down.
It's more than just “sweet balls”, it's a memory of love and cooking together as a family. I'm going to do this with my son soon, to make those special memories that we will always keep and treasure.
Ingredients:
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon butter unsalted
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- chocolate sprinkles
Instructions:
- Put the condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder in a pot.
- Cook on medium-low heat for about 8-10 minutes, stirring the entire time until the mix is very thick and comes away from the bottom of the pot. Do not stop stirring!
- Pour onto a buttered plate and let it cool completely.
- Grease your hands with butter. Roll the cold mix into small balls.
- Roll the balls in the sprinkles. Done!
Tip for Brigadeiro de Colher (Spoon Brigadeiro):
If you want the super creamy, soft version to eat with a spoon, just cook for about 5-7 minutes. It should be thick, but still easily run off the spoon.
