Travel (Outside of Canada)

Traveling is the most enjoyable thing in life! If I had enough time and money, I would definitely travel to visit all the countries in the world. However, as time and money are two of the most valuable things, traveling around the world is not a reality, and I have to set some summer travel priorities. So, going to Fernando de Noronha would be my ideal family summer vacation.

Fernando de Noronha is an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, part of the State of Pernambuco, located on the Brazilian coast. It is considered as a paradise and one of the most beautiful places to visit in the county. I would love to spend time with my family there. My sons would enjoy seeing aquatic animals, as diving is a very common activity to do in Noronha. My husband and I would have a peaceful time seeing astonishing sunshines.

As a Brazilian, I had never imagined planning outside activities in summer due to the fact that we have great and warm temperatures all year. However, after spending almost three years in Canada, I know the importance of summer plans. Visiting Noronha during the Canadian summer would be a good time because it is winter in Brazil. I know that sounds weird, however, winter in Northeast Brazil means pleasant temperatures, around 20ºC. So, it i better than going during the Brazilian summer when temperatures can reach close to 40ºC. Another reason is the fact that it isn't the high season, so flights and hotels would be cheaper. We could easily travel from Toronto to São Paulo and from São Paulo to Recife, capital of Pernambuco. From Recife we would take one more fight to the archipelago. It is not as cheap as going to Mexico, but it is not too expensive, and it is possible to arrive there with less than 24h flying.

The unique bad side of going to Fernando de Noronha in summer is going out of Canada during the most enjoyable season. Even so, there are many advantages, and my family would love to spend time together in a very special place where we always have had the dream to visit. I hope to realize this as soon as possible. Who knows, maybe it will even encourage you to visit this piece of paradise?
