Settlement

It all started in Conselheiro Lafaiete, in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil, but ended in another country. My mother and father always did the best for our family. I was a very happy child, I loved playing with my two sisters. I never thought about changing countries. But time passed, I met my husband, and he had already done an exchange in Vancouver and liked the world of Canada. Until unfortunately, I suffered a robbery on my way to work and that left me very scared, which made me think about maybe moving to a safer country to have our children. After this fact in 2017, we started planning our move. It took 2 years of planning, almost 6 years ago, in 2019, we moved to Canada with our dog, Dara.

Life as an immigrant is not easy, but everything has gone well so far. It has been difficult for me to find work because of my English. However, we have already obtained Canadian citizenship and have two beautiful children. My husband graduated here and I am studying English and I intend to go to college in the field of aesthetics next year. Looking back, I am very grateful to God for everything we have experienced so far. It was the best choice, here I feel safe with the family we built, even though I really miss everyone we left behind in Brazil.
