Motherhood

Mother’s Day is supposed to be a special day for moms. Well, mine was very special — just not in the way most people think.

I’m a mom of two boys. This year on Mother’s Day, I didn’t get flowers, cards, or even a simple “Happy Mother’s Day” until I reminded them what day it was. There was no breakfast in bed, no sweet surprises, no big hugs. So… I decided to treat myself. I went out and bought an ice cream. Yes, just one. For me.

But guess what? As soon as I opened it, my older son asked for half. Half! And of course, being the "nice" mom I am, I gave it to him. So much for my sweet reward.

I didn’t even get a little note or a paper heart. Just silence… and a half-eaten dessert. Honestly, compared to other moms posting photos with flowers and gifts, I felt extra special.

But that’s motherhood, right? It’s not always Instagram-perfect, but at least it gives me funny stories to tell.
