I was born and grew up in Abidjan ( Ivory Coast) and I lived there for a big part of my life. Ivory Coast is an African country that is located in the western part of the African continent. In fact, the Ivory Coast's capital is located in the south of the country, very close to the Atlantic Ocean. It takes at least one hour from the capital to see the sea. The population in this town was at least 6.3 million when I left my native town for Toronto in 2020. We have a population of 26 million, and 20% of this population lives in Abidjan, which is the capital. It's a beautiful city to live in; we have the sun all the time (of course, sometimes it rains ) . People are happy despite some financial problems. Life there is very pleasant. We have a problem with infrastructure (namely, roads), so the traffic is heavy most of the time. Many people prefer life in the capital compared to other towns where their difficulties are bigger; that's why the population in Abidjan is very high. This fact creates a problem with health security because we don't have enough hospitals. With the increase of corruption, it decreases life expectancy, which is at 59 years old right now.
When I came to Toronto in July 2020, I was surprised by the size of the city. In fact, Toronto is the fourth largest city in America. After New York City and Los Angeles in the United States, and Mexico City. Toronto is a beautiful and diverse city. We have many communities (French, Latin, Indian, European, African, etc.). It's a pleasant city. Toronto is the capital of Ontario, which is the richest province of Canada. The population is around 3 million, and the traffic on the road is pleasant. We can have all the activities we want in this city. I really appreciate this town because we have many communities, so I can discover many foods and many cultures. Toronto is very nice in terms of beauty, but I also like my native town. I think I have these two cities in my heart.
Toronto Island is a small and beautiful island located south of Toronto. It's a beautiful place where everybody can have a pleasant and nice day with family or friends. This particular place reminds me of my native town, Abidjan, where we can also have some water very close to the downtown. It's a place to be, especially in summertime, where you can find many sweetest winds. Toronto Islands is the best place for me to spend time with friends or family in the summer, it's good for having fun, dopamine and for mental health. We need this type of place in our working life to observe nature's beauty and support our friends or family.
Definitely, Toronto is a very big city ( Fourth in North America ) where you can enjoy life and diversity in many different places. Abidjan, my native country, has the same structure, but the difference with Toronto is the size of the town and the diversity. Toronto is also very beautiful. I really love this town.
