English

multi-ethnic group attending English language classes doing tasks during lesson

In Canada, many people speak English. It is an important language for work, school, and daily life. Newcomers need to learn English to talk to others, get jobs, and understand things like signs and forms. Canada has free classes to help immigrants learn English. Speaking English makes life easier and helps newcomers feel welcome.

In Eritrea, people speak different languages. The most common is Tigrinya, but some also speak Tigre and Arabic. English is not used for everyday life, but students learn it in school, especially at university. It helps people read books and do research, but most daily conversations are in local languages.

I am learning English every day. I practice speaking with friends and listening to English videos. Learning English helps me talk to people, find jobs, and understand the world better. Sometimes, grammar is hard, but I keep trying. I also read simple English books and write small paragraphs to improve my skills. Watching English movies and listening to songs helps me learn new words. I also practice writing emails and short messages.
