Searching for a job in Canada can feel overwhelming especially for newcomers or anyone getting is feet back to the job market and new graduates. To make this happen as its challenging, we need to get out from out comfort zone.

My experience is that I’m applying online on social media like LinkedIn because it’s more professional where companies share some job postings. I was not applying since I have been at home chilling, I was feeling discourage but now I’m trying to find motivation to apply because I need to make money to be able pay my bills. I used to reach out my network, my acquaintances on social media to find it there is no job posting somewhere by any chance. I also planning to attend to event, despite for now I’m attending to some virtual job fair. Nothing in person yet.

Therefore, my idea job is to work for the government since I’m bilingual (French/English). In the meantime, I would take the opportunity that comes up on my field not just because I’m hoping to make money. Mainly, I want to get back into the job market. Once this is done, I will look elsewhere and switch over.

I noticed that Canada’s job market rewards proactivity, even if I'm struggling, I know I am not alone. All my small steps today could lead me to a breakthrough tomorrow. I cannot give up; I have bills to paid and much more…
