Little kids having a swimming lesson

I met my friend Estelle through my son’s swimming class in a community center. I usually sat far away from other parents, I’m always too shy to join other people’s conversation. But Estelle was very nice to talk with me one day, and I feel comfortable to talk to her even in English. The other day, I sent her a message to invite her and her daughters to come over. The two girls are the same age as my kid. I'm so glad that they had a lot of fun here. We had a very peaceful time watching the kids play together and we just talked quite a lot.

We haven’t got any chance to have another play date during the past winter. Just last week when I was searching for a swimming class for the upcoming season, I sent her a message to ask if she also has the same plan. She got back to me so quickly and said, “What a coincidence!” She had typed two sentences for me yesterday but hadn't finished sending them.

That’s my best experience of making a local friend. I enjoyed talking with her because I can learn so much from her. She’s always so patient and understanding to me. This positive experience gave me more confidence to be open with friendly people.
