A very difficult decision for someone to leave his family and into the unknown. The first country I lived in was Egypt. In that country, I lived my most difficult days. I was alone in a country with a different culture and a different taste of life. But with time, I adapted to living alone without my family. I really learned a lot about life. After a year and half, I moved to Libya, looking for an opportunity to cross to Europe a cross the Mediterranean Sea. In order to find security first, then work on my future in terms of education and work, but I did not succeed in that dangerous way. But I did not give up.
I thought of a safe way and the solution was one of the safest decisions I have ever made in my life. I registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR).
This was the beginning of my destiny to come to Canada. On 3/4/2024,it was the most beautiful day of my life that I will never forget. That day I arrived in Canada, the land of dreams and the humanity in Canada gave me a sense of security that I had never found in my life.
Thank you Canada.
