My name is Fidele. I come from Congo. I have been living in Canada for over 6 years. I moved to Canada in 2019, and currently, I live in Ontario in a Small town called Atikokan.
When I moved to Canada, the weather really surprised me because it’s so different from my home country’s weather.
In Congo, we have two seasons, the dry season and the rainy season. These seasons are neither too hot nor too cold. But in Canada I discovered that there are 4 seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. It was very difficult for me to accept winter because I’m not used to the extreme cold like in Canada.
In winter, I was so happy to see the snow because that was the first time to see the white fluffy snow, but the cold was so intense that I felt uncomfortable. I had to cover myself everywhere and many layers, yet I remained cold.
As the years went by, I started to get used to it. Now I am okay with Canada’s winter. It is not difficult anymore. I have learned to cope with the cold.
