Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

adequate
enough in quantity or of a good enough quality for a particular purpose

adversity
a situation in which you have a lot of problems that seem to be caused by bad luck

archive
a place where a large number of historical records are stored, or the records that are stored

attire
clothes

crucial
extremely important, because everything else depends on it

domestic
relating to family relationships and life at home

empathy
the ability to understand other people’s feelings and problems 

euphoria
an extremely strong feeling of happiness and excitement which usually only lasts for a short time

excessive
much more than is reasonable or necessary

excursion
a short journey arranged so that a group of people can visit a place, especially while they are on holiday

folk
relating to the traditional art or culture of a community or nation

fussy
very concerned about small, usually unimportant details, and difficult to please

gadget
a small, useful, and cleverly-designed machine or tool

gastronomy
the art and science of cooking and eating good food

globalization
the process of making something such as a business operate in a lot of different countries all around the world, or the result of this

hobby
an activity that you enjoy doing in your free time

naive
not having much experience of how complicated life is, so that you trust people too much and believe that good things will always happen

nanny
a person whose job is to take care of the children in a family, usually in the family’s own home

norm
the usual or normal situation, way of doing something etc

riff
a repeated series of notes in popular or jazz music

roam
to walk or travel, usually for a long time, with no clear purpose or direction 

scam
a clever but dishonest way to get money

screening
tests or checks that are done to make sure that people or things are acceptable or suitable for a particular purpose

succumb
to stop opposing someone or something that is stronger than you, and allow them to take control

tricky
difficult to deal with or do because it is complicated and full of problems

uplifting
making you feel happier and more hopeful

vitality
great energy and eagerness to do things
