On Black Friday I plan to be very careful about shopping. I know that many stores use this day to get rid of old items and make space for new ones.
They often make the discounts look bigger than they really are, but sometimes the prices haven’t even changed at all. Many people feel excited to grab deals, but they often spend more money than they planned thinking they are saving. I will only buy something if it is something I truly need and have already decided to buy. This way I can avoid wasting money on things I don’t need.
On Buy Nothing Day I think I will take a break from shopping completely.
It is a good chance to think about how much we really need to buy and whether the things we buy are worth the money. I agree that people often buy things they don’t need or can’t afford especially during sales like Black Friday. They do this because they hope to save money or because the advertisements make them feel like they must buy something.
However, many people spend too much and regret it later. Clearly, by not shopping for a day, I can save money and focus on other things that are more important.
