Celebration

My children and I come to Canada a year ago. We were met by the host family. They are wonderful people who support my family a lot.

Firstly, they introduced us to new traditions. They have a huge family, more than 15 family members.

Secondly, they have their own family traditions, like decorating the house and wearing orange clothes during the holiday. We cooked together a lot of delicious food: turkey, potatoes and baked cookies. My kids and I made traditional Ukrainian food: borscht and pancakes.

After dinner, we went to the campsite for the night. We spent amazing time together. The nature at this time was incredible.

We are very grateful to our host family. In my opinion, it’s the best example for the spirit of Thanksgiving. Now I know that Thanksgiving Day is a holiday when you can say thank you to everyone. Moreover, it’s a good opportunity to be more kind and polite and keep this feeling in your heart the rest of the time.
