Canada

Canada is the second-largest country in the world, ranging from the majestic Rocky Mountains to the stunning coastal views of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Currently, there are ten provinces and three territories in Canada. Each province and territory has a capital city, with the country's capital being located in Ottawa, Ontario. Here are some interesting facts that impress me, and I did not know them before.

Firstly, Canada has an extremely large number of lakes, it’s around 2 million. Secondly, population density of Canada reached 4.27 people per square kilometer, therefore it's catching my eye when compared to Ukraine, for example.

Thirdly, it’s a world's leading producer and exporter of lentils, with the province of Saskatchewan contributing 95% of the country’s lentils. With this in mind, approximately 70 percent of the world volume of maple syrup is produced here. The tradition of harvesting has deep roots in Canadian culture, with the annual Maple Syrup Festival attracting locals and tourists.

Canada is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, including over 40 national parks, for example, the iconic Banff and Jasper National Parks. My favourite place is Vancouver Island which is surrounded by wildlife such as bears, moose, bald eagles, and breathtaking views. The island is famous for its diverse landscapes, ranging from rainforests and pristine beaches to rugged mountains. Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia, graces the southern part of the island. There is a mix of historic architecture and modern amenities. Notably, Vancouver Island offers opportunities for whale watching, hiking, and kayaking in the stunning surroundings. Nanaimo is a charming city on Vancouver Island's eastern coast which holds a unique place in the region.

Additionally, famous Nanaimo bars were tasted all over the world. Moreover, the wide waterfront, featuring a noising harbour, adds to Nanaimo's allure. Despite culinary delights and scenic beauty, Nanaimo shows local festivals and events celebrating the island's diverse heritage. Also, here is very warm climate which attract a lot of third age people to live here. That’s why the pace of life is slow here and peaceful. Overall, Vancouver Island and Nanaimo, in particular, offer an escape into the wonders of nature and calmness.

From my point of view, Canada is a massive, stunning country filled with friendly people, diverse cities, and gorgeous landscapes. It is also known as friendly and multicultural society but it’s not just about nature, it also stands for innovation and technological advancements, with huge cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. It is a dynamic hub for arts, business, and education. Finally, I am really happy to live here and enjoy life on an incredible island.
