Bios

Let me introduce my family. My name is Anna, and my husband Oleksandr. We have a son named Mark and daughter named Regina. We're a family from Ukraine. We all were born in Kharkiv and we had lived there until the sad events of February 2022.

My husband and I were classmates and knew each other from childhood. Our relationship was starting started in high school and we've been together most of our lives. As we have grown together we have mostly the same interests. We like anime and fantasy movies, rock and electronic music, hiking and paddle boarding.

We both have a master’s degree. I have an economic education and Oleksandr has an engineering background. Also we think education is very important for any person’s future success. That’s why we are demanding a good education for children. In Ukraine Mark attended different classes like violin playing, football and additional education. He is really good at math for his age. Regina is the opposite of Mark. She loves dancing, singing and absolutely doesn’t like math.

Our family arrived to in Canada in September 2022. And we are really excited about the nature of BC. Ukraine has mountains and an ocean too. But we lived in a big industrial city and saw the beauty of Ukraine only on holidays. Now we live in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. The mountains and the ocean are 15 minutes away by car. It’s amazing to be here right now. I’m very grateful to Canada for the opportunity to be safe here.
