Distance education also has disadvantages. First, it limits the interactions between teachers and students, and social activities among students. Teachers and students will not meet in person, and this could limit conversation topics and the time they talk with others. Second, it could be more difficult for a teacher to manage a class. For example, not all students are willing to turn on their cameras when they attend classes. It is hard for the teacher to get familiar with students, or receive timely feedback.

I would think distance education is still the way of the future. It is easier to learn new things at home rather than going to a class. You can save commute time and use it to learn more things. Also, technologies are powerful ways for study. They can be used to manage learning materials and study schedule and help students and teachers communicate more effectively.
