My name is Taha. I’m from Syria. I moved to Turkey during the Syrian civil war and I lived in Turkey for five years. I have worked really hard in Turkey. I worked as a welder helper in the beginning and after that I worked as farmer. I used to take care of animals on a farm. I fed them every day in the mornings and in the afternoons and the evenings it was really difficult to get the animals to walk back. But I have got through all that hard time. My dream is to be a police officer. But in Turkey I couldn’t go to school because I had to work to help my parents. Then I moved from the farm to a city to work in a shoe factory and I started learning how to make shoes. Later I got really good at it. In October 2015 I signed my application via UN to come to Canada with my family. We had three interviews with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and Canadian MPC. In August 2016 we got a call from the Canadian MPC to and they said our plane tickets were and the fly date was Sept 6, 2016. I was really happy to come to Canada. After I arrived, I continued studying in order to become a police officer. I have finished my high school in 2020. The language was really hard to learn but I have made it and I’m still learning it. I’m going to college this September to finish my Protection Security Investigation Course and prepare myself to make my dream come true. I am thankful that God helped me go through everything!
