Masala Pav

I like cooking. When I have free time, I cook new dishes. Today, I want to introduce to you a new recipe I tried recently. This is a recipe for Masala Pav. It is a very easy to make and tasty dish.
Ingredients:
- 2 pav buns (traditional Indian bread)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1-inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- ½ capsicum/bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 large tomato, finely chopped
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp pav bhaji masala (traditional Indian spice mix)
- salt to taste
- ¼ cup water or as required
- 2 tbsp coriander/cilantro leaves, finely chopped
Instructions:
- In a tawa skillet (a shallow traditional Indian pan) heat butter
- First, add chopped onions, chopped ginger, and garlic and fry until golden brown.
- Then add chopped capsicum/bell pepper and continue to saute
- Finally, add chopped tomato and fry untill soft
- Create a well to add pav bhaji masala, chili powder and salt, add a little water and mash, cook the masala well
- Scrape the masala to one side of the pan.
- Add more butter to tawa pan
- Cut the pav buns into half, toast them for a minute in the pan
- Turn over and spread a generous amount of prepared masala on both the pav buns
Finally, garnish with chopped coriander/cilantro leaves and serve Masala Pav hot with sliced onions and a piece of lemon. Enjoy!
