When people come to Canada, it is hard to find the same job as before. There are so many reasons for this but in my opinion, the language is the most import reason. I came from China and I am not good at English speaking and listening because we never spent much time on them. Not only we lived in a Chinese-speaking environment, but also the official language is Chinese in China.

I knew It is impossible to find the same job as I did in China due to lack of language fluency, so, when I was still in China, I had thought about my job selection after landing in Canada.

I compared so many job opportunities and got more information about home inspector from my MBA classmate in China who had been a home inspector for two years in Canada. I talked with him several times and knew more and more about home inspector.

To be honest, I hate working at nights because I have got serious sleeping problems from my previous job. I do not have to work at night even if I must finish the written report until midnight if my client needs the report earlier than usual. I seldom went to bed after midnight, which was impossible in the past.

Since I had decided to be a home inspector, it was best to finish all the course as soon as possible. However, the most difficult part was to pass 20 exams. I spent one year in completing 10 courses online and finished all the 20 exams in the end. Finally, I made it.

It has been long since I got the home inspection certificate. I like my job very much, on the one hand, I can support my family easily; On the other hand, I am more and more confident to live a better life in Canada.

From my experience I can draw a conclusion that now that I am not good at English, I can do a job more reliable on job experience not only communication.
