It is not a secret that New Years is one of the most popular and anticipated holidays on this Earth, including for Ukraine the same.

Traditionally, in Ukraine, the New Year begins on the evening of December 31st. On this evening, the whole family gathers in the house to prepare food for the New Year’s table and decorate the house with New Year’s decorations. A necessary interior item for the New Year should be a Christmas tree, because on New Year’s evening Santa Claus puts gifts under the tree for all family members. At night fall, the whole family must sit down at the table waiting for 12 o’clock in the morning. With the onset of 12 o’clock in the morning, all family members wish each other a Happy New Year, with happiness, joy, and health in the coming year. Then they find their gifts under the Christmas tree and open them with pleasure.

According to tradition, in the coming days it is necessary to meet with friends at the New Year’s table. Exchange gifts and wish everyone the best for the coming year.

New Year remains the most beloved and merry holiday for all children in the world. I am glad to preserve the traditions of my parents and happily pass the traditions to my children.
