Athletes ride a bicycle because they want to exercise. Cool guys go cycling to have fun for their leisure time. Also, regarding the area and fair weather, people prefer to cycle for their movement as an option of transportation. The smartest people choose the combination of all of these. How about you? Regardless, of any of the mentioned purposes, have you ever thought about the advantages and disadvantages of cycling?
The most famous advantages, which almost everybody approves of are the following:
First, biking increases muscle strength and flexibility. Most of the cyclists are fit and in good shape because of regular cardiovascular exercise and their decrease in body fat level. Secondly, it is the best recreational activity for both body and soul. I, as a cyclist, feel free while I’m riding my bike since it reduces the level of stress and anxiety. Therefore, this is my best choice to spend my weekend. In fact, it helps me to be energetic to start my new week. Finally, biking is one of the most convenient ways of transportation while is way cheaper than any other type of commuting.
Despite all the advantages, there are disadvantages too. First of all, dangerous driving is hazardous for cyclists. Unfortunately, on most of the roads, there is no bicycle lane, which makes cyclists more vulnerable to have an accident. Finally, bikes are easy to steal, and this makes the cyclist more limited to go wherever they want. You can not leave your bike unattended, even with a lock in most places.
To sum this up, considering all the advantages and disadvantages, I prefer to ride my bike because it’s easy and convenient to use. If you equip your bike with a light, bell and a lock while wearing a helmet all the time, you can reduce the risk of having an accident.
