Through my experience with online learning, I want to provide a list of benefits and advice that may help to continue home learning. Studying online is beneficial to me. It allows me to spend more time with my kids, save transit expenses and gives me a chance to work a part-time job. After I arrived in Canada in 2017, I registered on the waiting list in the LINC Home Study program, and I started a few months later. It was essential for me to stay with my baby at home. For this program, I took some steps to help, and I prepared my desk in a quiet room with good Wi-Fi. I achieved my goal of completing level 5 English in the LINC program, which allowed me to attend grade 12 courses online. All of these were offered for free. At this time, I also got a part-time job.
My advice for those studying at home: first, chose a comfortable and quiet place, with the right lights. Then check your Wi-Fi, prepare your laptop, headset, microphone, and web camera. After that, establish a schedule to help you manage your time and keep your studies on track. To minimize distractions, turn off your phone and all social media programs. Moreover, it is excellent for you to use the Pomodoro technique! When you begin a scheduled study block, work for 25-minute sessions followed by short breaks to keep your focus and energy going. Pomodoro is a technique that sets aside time for focusing on a specific task and rewards you with small chunks of time to be used for short breaks. Finally, you don't have to work from home. You can go to the cafe, restaurant, library, etc.
I am sure you will get amazing results if you follow these steps because online learning is more comfortable than the traditional way of learning. You can save money and time, as learning online is a lot cheaper and does not require transportation. Also, it has a lot of additional advantages, such as access to recorded lectures and flexible schedules, and you can attend your course from any location. As a result, it will provide you with an opportunity to manage your business and household as you can continue in your job and complete your college or university education.
In my opinion, we are going to need this kind of learning method, especially during this pandemic. It is a safer and more comfortable learning environment. I am very excited; now, I can reach my goal while being able to finish all my responsibilities. Online learning gives me the motivation to move forward and to get to learn lifelong, wherever and whenever I want.
