Christmas and New Year can be the favorite holidays of not only children but also adults. When I was little girl, I really loved the New Year because at New Year’s there is always gifts, delicious food, fireworks, fairs and fun. Christmas in our country is different than in Canada.
This year, Christmas and New Year holidays were quiet for me. I congratulated our neighbors on Christmas and treated them to apple pie.
I received gifts from my husband and daughter. These are earrings, a pendant and beautiful slippers. I gave my husband a gift card. My daughter received a watch that she had dreamed about.
We did not celebrate the New Year’s because my husband worked, and my daughter went to a party with friends. I had a great opportunity to watch my favorite movies all day.
Last year there were a lot of bright and unforgettable events. My daughter and husband received Canadian citizenship.
I really want this year to be very kind to me. I want to try new sports and learn more English, and really hope that I can do it.
If I have another week of holiday this year, I would like to spend it with my grandchildren.
I would love to travel somewhere in Canada too. It doesn't matter where we go. I want to see and learn as much as possible of the country in which I live.
In the New Year everyone makes wishes.
I have two cherished desires every year.
I dream that this year my family and friends will be alive and not sick.
If I had the opportunity to change the world, I would make it so that the world would never again have wars, fires and tornadoes.
You cannot be happy if you know that somewhere people are dying, children are crying and animals are suffering . If people learn not only to receive gifts but also to give joy, goodness and love, then the world will become better and kinder. This is my hope for the New Year.
