Two cats sit on the window and look around together

They are soft, fluffy, incredibly beautiful. Cats! We love to live with them, play with them, and take care of them. What a pleasure it is to watch these awesome animals!

In addition to aesthetic pleasure, these tailed creatures can heal us. Yes, Yes! To treat! These furry friends can provide both psychological assistance to a person and have a positive effect on us physically. Felinotherapy is methods of prevention and treatment of various diseases through contact with cats. Research has confirmed that cats affect people with their sound, warmth, and massage. For example, specialists from the University of Life Sciences Lublin have proven that physical contact with a cat causes the release of endorphins, which partially block the perception of pain, lowers blood pressure and stimulates the immune system. With their purring, cats spread vibrations at a frequency of 20 to 140 Hz, and low-frequency vibrations ( 18–35 Hz) have a positive effect on joint health and help restore mobility after injury. The body of our mustachioed comrades radiates heat, since their normal temperature is 3 degrees higher than that of humans. This is useful for joint diseases, arthritis, and injuries. After my cat lies down on the sore spot, believe me, my condition improves and it’s easier for me to relax. I think it's the same for you too. Have you noticed how cats shift their paws from place to place, sometimes releasing their claws? This is a kind of massage with acupuncture functions, which has a healing effect and looks very cute. Also, when you pet your kitty, you get rid of static electricity. This is beneficial for people with high blood pressure. Scientists from the University of Minnesota have proven that having a cat in the house helps reduce the risk of heart attack by almost a third. Ten-year observations have revealed that mortality from heart attacks of cat owners is on average 30% lower. It also turned out that a cat protects not only from heart attack, but also from stroke. This is because while you are petting your cat, your blood pressure is normalizing.

Every cat can be treated regardless of breed, colour or size. Without a doubt, a cat is the best home healer! Appreciate your pets, spend as much time with them as possible, and remember: for you, they are part of your life, and for them, you are their whole life!
