Each person has their own responsibilities and through the life path they are changing as they are growing up. One of the paths is to become a parent when you decide to have a child. Here we take a great responsibility to raise a child. This is one of the most difficult tasks every parent faces in their lives. Here in this reflection, I will try to highlight the main points a parent can pay attention to in bringing up a child.

There is no doubt that a newborn baby brings a great feeling of happiness and joy. Everything from sweet smells to cute smiles in a newborn makes you feel unspeakable pleasure. You only enjoy the positive feelings of having a baby, your baby, your blood, your genes. These are the sweetest and most joyful years you have while your child is small and follows everything you do and say. These years are especially important in building fundamental things in raising a child. Your child follows you and absorbs every step and action. It is not even necessary to explain some things, you only need to live a normal quiet life showing kindness, loyalty, responsibility, honesty, generosity, and confidence your child will need in their future life.

As your child grows, you start to feel more responsibility to raise a self-confident and intelligent person. It is true that life is full of obstacles and challenges and our children cannot avoid facing them. Eventually, they become teenagers. The teenage years are the most important part for a parent. It is especially crucial to be prepared for this period of growing up. There are many situations when parents have no idea what emotional changes their child faces. Misunderstanding, strict behavior, insisting on your point of view can only worsen a child-parent relationship. The only thing you need to do is follow your child. It is the same as when they followed you at their younger age. Of course, at this period your child is the main priority in your life. You should devote all your spare time to listening carefully to what your child says, talking, being patient, sympathetic, and supportive to every idea and action your child shows. It will take some years until your child grows up, realizes, understands, and takes the right path. Only after that will you feel relief and confidence your child does not need your help.

To conclude, I would like to say that the more effort you put in in raising your child, the more satisfaction you get when you see success in your child’s life. It also means in your senior years you will be safe and secure as you will not feel lonely because you will have a responsible, successful and healthy grown-up who will take care of you.
