Celebration

The month of Ramadan holds significant religious importance for all Muslims in the world, is also an important month for the people of Afghanistan. During this month, our people fast, pray, and worship. Afghan people prepare different and delicious foods in this month, different from other months, and share their food with other families and neighbours. At souhur, friends often call each other for souhur to prevent falling asleep because of eating. Rich people help poor people. At the time of breaking the fast when people go to the mosque to pray, everyone takes a dish of food with them and they all break their iftar together. An entertainment program that is among young people, they go to their neigbours’ houses in the nights of Ramadan and read Ramadn poems, and the neighbours give them money and sweets. The last days of Ramadan, everyone prepares for Eid, they buy special clothes for themselves and their children, they buy nuts and sweets for Eid. On the last night of Ramadan, people are busy shopping outside the house until late at restaurants and stores, and they are very happy because of the coming of Eid celebration.
