Traditional soup with rice, lentils and mint on a rustic table

This is how to prepare one of the most delicious and popular dishes in the world, and you can welcome the winter season with it.

First let's talk about the benefits of lentil:

  • A good source of vitamin B
  • Iron
  • Folate
  • Potassium
  • High level of protein
  • Cheap
  • Easy to make

The recipe:

  • 250 gr of lentil 
  • Water 500ml / chicken broth soup
  • Cumin -1 tsp
  • Black pepper -1 tsp
  • Salt - as you like
  • Olive oil - 2 tbs.

Preparation:

  1. Boil the water/ chicken broth soup.
  2. Add to the lentil the seasonings, black pepper, cumin, salt, and the olive oil mix it well (all this in a separate bowl)
  3. Add the mix to the boiled water, and stir a little. Cover the pot.
  4. Lower the heat to the minimum.
  5. After 25 minutes, check if the lentil is cooked, so you can turn it off.
  6. Make a grilled bread, cut it into small pieces, add it to each serving bowl, and in the end you can add lemon because we need to benefit from iron.
