Self-Improvement

glass filled with a beverage

Do you see this glass right here? Yes, the one which is full of a beverage and ice. After sipping it down completely it will be full of air. There is no such a thing as an empty glass. And there is no such thing as an empty mind, either. Our minds are full of negative thoughts, positive thoughts or a mixture of the two. Happy moments and sad memories are floating in our minds together. There are feelings of hope and hopelessness bobbing about shoulder to shoulder. Our minds, like this glass, are not empty.

Are our thoughts important? No doubt they are! We spend a lot of time thinking even about things which are not worth thinking about. Our thoughts influence our life perception, reflect on our mood, emotions and actions. That is why it is so vital to direct our thoughts in the right direction. We have to learn how to flush out life-poisoning thoughts and how to refill our minds again with helpful, hopeful and encouraging thoughts. It is difficult to organize them, however no one can do it except ourselves. Whenever we desire to change something in our lives, we do it mentally in our brain and in our thoughts. Nevertheless, reality is much more complicated than imagination.

Life is a series of choices, good ones or bad ones. We are creators! You are the creator of your own destiny.

Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.

It is important to pay attention to the present moment and focus on what you're doing without worrying about the past or future.

When you feel stressed or overwhelmed it is helpful to take slow deep breaths to calm your mind before making any decisions. Be kind to yourself and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Spend time with beloved ones, share your thoughts and feelings with someone you trust and feel comfortable with. Be supportive to your friends and family, talk to them, and have fun together. In order to clear thoughts, it is also good to take outside walks and enjoy the fresh air, connect with the natural world. Engaging in physical activities might also help, even simple bike rides or skipping with a rope.

Think about things you are grateful for each day and write them down or say them out loud. And you will see how your life will play in other bright colors. In order to start enjoying life it is good to prioritize your mental health. Through our life experience we accumulate skills and may gain some wisdom.
