Traditional Middle Eastern food. Lebanese food. Arabian lamb barbecue, Mujadara rice and cabbage mal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Lentils
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 large Onions
  • ½ cup olive Oil
  • 4½ cups Water
  • 1 tsp Seven Spices
  • 1 tsp Cumin

Instructions

  1. Put lentils in a pot and cover with water, boil for 4 minutes only. Then drain and keep the water.
  2. Slice onions
  3. In the same pot mix cooked lentils with the rice, salt, seven spices, and cumin.
  4. Add the water and boil, turn down the heat and wait 20 mins until all the water is gone and rice is cooked.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions until they become crispy.
  6. Top the rice and lentils with the crunchy onions.
  7. You can serve this dish with yogurt.
