In any part of life, the tools to achieve a goal play an important role.
While learning English, everyone uses different sets of tools. No one will refuse to replenish their set with one that will help expand their vocabulary. After all, expanding vocabulary is one of the tasks facing the student. I found a handy tool that you might like.
This is the creation of word lists and the ability to conduct tests to memorize these words on the website ‘Cambridge Dictionary’: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/howto.html

You can start the test in two ways:
Go to a word list, then click on the ‘Test Yourself’ button on the list
Or, from the Cambridge Dictionary +Plus page or the Word list page, click on the ‘Test’ icon for a word list.
Next step: read the question, write your answer, push the ‘Submit’ button, and look at the work on the site. It will show you your answer and the correct answer. Then you can go to the next question.
When learning new words, it is important to know how they are pronounced.
One function that I really like is that you can check the pronunciation of words, because the site has such a function for each new word. You can check it for each word in your word list. It is so useful.
Everyone has different abilities in memorizing new words: how to pronounce them and how to spell them.
The English language has a wonderful function: to know one word and use it as a noun, verb, adjective and other word class. I'm talking about how words are formed from other words through conversion. Conversion involves the change of a word from one word form to another.
For example
- the verbs to email and to microwave are formed from the nouns email and microwave.
- ups and downs (nouns from prepositions)
- jetting (verb from noun jet)
This site shows all existing word classes/forms and meanings for each word.
So, I add to the list each form of one word to remember all its forms.
Look at these fun examples:
They fished the fish out of the lake.
She toasted the toast.
It seems to me that in my native language there are not so many forms of words, so this tool and process helps me a lot.
