There are couple of differences between Canadian and Ukrainian education systems. The kindergarten in Canada is located in school building, but not in Ukraine. The primary school is 8 years long in Canada, and 4 in Ukraine. The secondary school is 4 years in Canada. But in Ukraine there is secondary base school 5 years long, followed by higher level secondary school, 3 years long. In Ukraine both primary and secondary schools are usually located in the same building. The duration of academic year is from September till June in Canada, and from September till May in Ukraine. So, I can assume, that secondary education systems in these two countries are rather similar than different.
