I feel a sense of love and sharing whenever I come to Canada. As a newcomer, the first period of settling in is very difficult, but I’ve realized that the Canadian government has many policies to help people like me. Programs such as the Child Care Benefit and financial assistance for families who return to school to enhance our knowledge. During this time, even when we can’t find a job or go to work, we still receive federal or provincial benefits that help us survive and ensure our family has enough to live on. Additionally, helping everyone to integrate with culture and community like the LINC program from non - profit organizes or Home Study program from Achev or an apprentice program. All these programs help to break language barriers. I feel deeply grateful for all the support I’ve received, and I am sure that in the future I will help newcomers just as I have been helped.
