I would like to tell you about some traditional food from my country. It is very popular and people usually eat it every Sunday. It is called couscous. Here is what you need:
- 1 large pot and a big mixing spoon
- Vegetables :two onions ,100 grams chickpeas and two pieces of pumpkin.
- Meats: four pieces of lamb (about 750 grams)
- Spices: 1 tbsp salt ½ tbsp black pepper,2 tbsp concentrated tomato, 2 tbsp paprika,½ tbsp Ground turmeric.
- Water: you need two liters of water.
- Vegetable oil,½ cup
- Couscous, half a kilo (it is bubbled in its own pot over water for 20 minutes)
On a medium temperature, put the oil, onions, meat, chickpeas, sat, black pepper and concentrated tomatoes. Then fry all the ingredients together gradually add 2 liters ½ of water and leave it until it boils.
We place the couscous on top of the pot to steam the couscous on top of it ,after we have soaked it in a large cup of hot water, stirring, leave it to steam for 20 minutes. Then put it aside and cover it with a napkin.
When the meat is cooked, pour the couscous into a dish, put the broth on it and stir until the broth is absorbed, then pour the rest of the ingredients over it and it will be ready to eat. I hope you like this delicious popular Tunisian dish.
Try it one day.
