Since I was a child, I remember with great emotion when I looked at photographs in books or magazines, even in movies where they showed majestic landscapes with trees in yellow, red, orange and ocher. Off course, all this was majestic for me because in my country of origin Venezuela we did not have landscapes with these characteristics: so since I was a child I assumed that the privileged region with those forests and colors was called New England and this was in the United States of America and was constituted by the States of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Later I learned that these landscapes were not limited to that area alone, but included a large part of the northern hemisphere of the planet and that their duration is reduced to a short period of time and that this season of the year was called Autumn. I also learned that this time of year begins on September 21 and extends until December 21 with the arrival of winter. Once I arrived in Canada 2018, I knew that autumn is more than beautiful and colorful landscapes with vibrant colors, and I will tell you why it is my favorite season.
The days are cool and rainy. These walks are usually moments of personal reflection. Spending time with my family in the warmth of home enjoying various activities is usually very pleasant.
The brightest sunrises and sunsets. In autumn, sunsets and sunrises show us a brighter and more intense colors, and the sun gives us a redder and warmer light because it reaches a lower height than in the summer and its light travels a greater distance to reach us.
Pumpkin farms. The truth is that it is dreamy to be on a farm and see large fields of pumpkins. Many farms usually offer attractions to visitors to spend a day with family or friends sharing the pumpkin season, and you can never miss enjoying the delicious pumpkin pie.
Halloween. A day of emotions and lots of fun. Children love this day of the year, and the truth is I understand them, I also enjoy it a lot, my children and I go out on Halloween to trick or treat. but every moment is special, from going shopping for costumes it becomes an epic adventure. Fortunately, the community I live in the city of Burlington is quite fun and I see large amounts of children and their parents having a lot of fun and sharing as a community.
The truth is that autumn is my favorite season of the year because I associate it with a lot of fun and family unity, but at the same time it is an extraordinary time of year to reflect on many aspects of my life. Because just as autumn is a time of rebirth and change, it is also an opportunity for us to experience rebirth and face the beauty that is in those changes. Canada for immigrants is like the fall season for nature, it comes loaded with a lot of beauty, but it also involves changes that we must experience and from which we cannot escape, so we must enjoy the beauty and the process of transformation as well as nature. adapts and then gives way to a glorious spring.
