Some of the challenges for adult learners are related to time-management. When you have a family and kids, it is difficult to find time for your own learning. Memory is also weak sometimes, so remembering new words and using them everyday in a new language can be challenging. I think lifelong learning is important. When provided with some material and guidance, we can learn many things.
To share from my own learning experience, I studied for 12 years in school and completed a course in commerce in high school. My favorite subject was business because I learned a lot about finance and economics. I also studied English in my country for 12 years, but it was difficult for me because it was my second language. I learned only writing and reading in English while I was in school. Our spoken English and listening skills were not very strong. However, in Canada, we use English for speaking, listening, writing and reading most of the time, which has helped us learn quickly.
In my opinion, learning is crucial because it helps us to mature and consider different perspectives, keeping our brains active. Although it's challenging at times due to everyday life work and family responsibilities, not learning can hold us back. I believe mental health issues are common nowadays, and staying mentally active through learning can help.
